Milan Fashion Week Fall 2018
It's not about brand, it's about style.
The City of Milan is Italy’s fashion capital and it has also gained fame as the “Fashion Capital of the World.” Milan is a mecca for fashionistas so you can imagine how busy Milan is during fashion week.
There were tons of highlights from the shows in Milan and it's hard to capture them all in one blog post. See below for my favorite looks and pieces that stood out of the crowd. Layering and bold prints seemed like the name of the game for Milan Fashion Week for both streetstyle and on the runway.
Fendi X Fila: Okay so this is pretty cool. It kind of makes me regret throwing away those Fila sweatshirts I wore as a teenager!
Fendi collaborated with sports label Fila on a limited-edition capsule collection which was unveiled at the Italian luxury label's Fall/Winter 2018/19 presentation. Fendi incorporated some very Fila-esque graphics into its Fall/Winter 2018 collection as part of a collaboration with Instagram artist @hey_reilly.
Designer: Cavalli
The Cavalli collection featured glamour and sensuality. “This is a woman who wants to be visible, also respecting social codes,” said Cavalli. The looks offered lots of skin with the promise for more.
Designer: Georgio Armani
If you’re into headwear, you probably already know that the biggest news in hats this season is the beret! The Armani collection had models wearing oversized floppy faux fur and hippy-style berets.
Designer: Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini
Philosophy's collection was romantic but bold, sweet but sexy. The 3 pictures below were my favorite looks from Philosophy. I love that they are still girly but make a statement too!
Designer: Versace
No one does bold prints and plaid like Versace does. The Fall/Winter 2018 collection featured different variations of the label’s iconic red, yellow and black patterned motif. The look that stood out the most to me was the jet black bustier worn with a voluminous silk skirt and a white graphic logo T-shirt.
Again, the fanny pack is back in Milan too! The pack appeared in both downmarket and luxury varieties ranging from unbranded options to big names such as Gucci, Chanel and Céline.
