Kicking off Spring with Fairmont Waterfront
We choose to collect memories and moments rather than things.
Can you believe we are already in April! This year has gone by soo fast and I wish time would slow down! Spring is my second favorite season! I always find it a season of new beginnings.
To kick off Spring, we had the pleasure of staying at the world class luxury hotel, Fairmont Waterfront! We spent a few days here and had the best staycation! The boys were soo happy! Ethan has always been about the hotel life but this time Liam was as well. Staycationing with my littles loves is one of my favorite things to do. The convenience of not having to board a plane and exploring our own back yard is such a nice treat.
We hadn’t stayed at Fairmont Waterfront prior to this and I wish we had sooner! Located on the city’s dynamic harbour front, Fairmont Waterfront is a world class luxury hotel in Vancouver, and proudly embraces a sustainable philosophy. You can’t beat the location of Fairmont Waterfront! It’s literally steps away from The Vancouver Convention Centre, the cruise ship terminal, and Waterfront Skytrain Station. It’s a very short walk to historic Gastown, Robson and soo close to Stanley Park which is one of our favorite parks to take the kids too.
Check in was such a breeze. Although it was busy, the line moved really fast and we were in our room within 15 minutes. Our luggage also was brought up within 10 minutes of getting in which was so nice. This way we didn’t need to wait around to unpack.
Fairmont Waterfront has both standard rooms and suites. We stayed in harbour view suite which offered gorgeous view of the waterfront! The floor-to-ceiling windows made waking up and laying in bed so calming! This was my most favorite part of our stay! There is something so calming about waking up to the water. (note to self, need to retire and live by the water one day!)
After checking in, we spent some time in the hotel room and the boys immediately grabbed their robes. Fairmont robes are SO comfortable and we loved lounging around in them. Ethan immediately put his own every time we walked into the room. It was so cute. He was made for the robe life, haha!
Fairmont Waterfront is boasted in Coal Harbour with views of Canada Place and the ocean which is so breathtaking! The views from the Fairmont Waterfront were some of the best views we have had staying in a hotel. The boys were obsessed with staring at the seaplanes and it was so nice to sip on a hot coffee while watching the water. It was so calming and beautiful. We spent so much time sitting by the window!
We went for a quick dinner at Cactus Club in coal harbour which was a 5 minute walk and I loved that being right downtown, we didn’t really need to drive anywhere. There are so many amazing restaurants in walking distance from the hotel which makes it so convenient if you don’t have a car or don’t want to drive.
We wanted to come back to the room to just hang out since we are always on the go so the boys had a little dance party before we went to bed! The beds were super comfortable and they even brought up a little crib for Liam! He slept like a baby which was so great!
Amenities:
Where do I start?! There are so many amazing amenities and it’s hard to put them in order of favorites since they are all wonderful! The property features a Health Club complete with a beautiful heated pool located on an outdoor rooftop patio. You had me at “heated pool” and “outdoor rooftop”! Say no more! The pool is open year-round and has extraordinary views of the city. The Health Club also includes a hot tub and a gym with all the equipment you need for a great sweat sesh. Bonus - it was so clean and it also had fresh towels and purified cold water!
We spent the majority of our Saturday at the pool! Although we have cold weather in Vancouver, it seriously felt like a warm Summer day! The pool was SO heated and it literally felt like a warm bath. I haven’t ever been to a pool this warm. The boys were soo happy and because the sun was shining, we ended up staying for a long time. They also have some pool toys that the boys used which was nice. The outdoor pooled has views of coal harbour so we watched the sea planes come in and out which was beautiful to see. There are plenty of beach loungers by the pool so there are enough seats. Ethan and I spent some time in the hot tub as well and it was so perfect!
After a long pool day, we all needed a nap and the beds at Fairmont Waterfront are so much more than comfortable. Ethan and I took a quick nap because Liam has decided that naps aren’t his thing lately (a story for another day!).
We quickly got ready and met my Mom, Brother and his gf for a nice Saturday night dinner! We didn’t stay out long as we could tell the littles were tired and wanted to come back to the room. They actually wanted to come back and sit by the window after their bedtime showers and hang out. I always get reminded by them that it’s okay to slow down, relax and not do much so we followed their lead. Being able to just sit in a beautiful room with gorgeous views felt so nice!
Dining:
The ARC is their onsite restaurant they offer a great selection of dishes. We didn’t get a chance to dine here as we were a bit late to make reservations but we will definitely be back! They also have bottomless weekend brunch which I am hoping to try one day too.
Room Service:
We had room service a few times and every single item was SO yummy. Ethan and Liam LOVED the kids pancakes and ordered them both mornings. Liam’s usually a picky eater but he was very happy with his meal. See his face below.
Both Gavin and I loved our meals as well. I am more of a sweet person so really liked the french toast and Gavin wanted a full on big breakfast and ate every single bite. One thing I love about the Fairmont chain is that their room service is always on point and Fairmont Waterfront was no exception. We all wanted to eat together and they brought us two extra chairs which was so nice. The service from beginning to end was more than amazing.
Final Thoughts:
We had such an amazing staycation at Fairmont Waterfront. This luxury hotel has it all and more! From the amazing customer service to the very heated rooftop pool to the yummy room service, Fairmont Waterfront leaves no detail untouched!
Traveling with young kids isn’t easy and having an amazing hotel to stay in that offers great amenities for kids as well makes it easier! Making these memories with my boys while they are this little is so important to me and I’m so thankful to be able to do that. Seeing them so happy makes my mama heart the happiest. If I had to describe our stay in one word it would be FUN! Everything was just so much fun!
I highly recommend staying at Fairmont Waterfront if you’re looking for a luxury hotel that has it all! Whether you are looking for a girls trip, a family staycation like us or even a solo trip, I promise that you will love it and have as much fun as we did!
