Our Babymoon at Fairmont Chateau Whistler

Our Babymoon at Fairmont Chateau Whistler

I was invited to experience a 3 night stay at The Fairmont Chateau Whistler for our Babymoon and this is an honest review of our experience. All opinions are my own.

I can’t believe we are just weeks away from meeting the littlest babe of our family! Baby number 3! It has a bit of a ring to it and I like it ;) We had the most magical time staying at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler and I’m so thankful for all of the memories that we made. Since I’m a high risk pregnancy and wasn’t able to fly, we chose Whistler as our destination and I’m so glad we did! Ethan hasn’t stopped talking about it and pretend plays that we are back in our gorgeous suite! Our drive up to Whistler was so beautiful and if you haven’t been, you need to visit! It’s one of the most popular ski resorts but I personally love it in the Summer time!

We arrived at 11:00am and and I was very impressed with the hotels exterior. The Fairmont Chateau Whistler sits right on the base of Blackcomb Mountain so the views are so amazing!

When we pulled into valet, we were greeted with the biggest smile and our bags were immediately loaded onto a trolley. Check-in was a breeze and our room was ready within an hour of checking in so our bags were put in storage and we were given keys to use the facilities. This was great as it was nice and hot out! We ordered food by the pool so we didn’t need to go far for lunch! I love that we had this option as I really wanted to enjoy the hotel as much as possible.

The lobby is simply beautiful and oh so grand! My first impression was how clean the hotel was. The lobby boasts of traditional decor with the right amount of elegance and modern furniture. The cozy fireplace and floral accents were my favorite! The big windows overlooking the garden were also not a bad sight on the eyes either.

When we received the text that our room was ready, we took an elevator to our floor and wow this suite was so spacious and beautiful! There is a separate living room with two sofas, a TV, mini bar, coffee maker and full bathroom. The french doors opened up to a king size bed with a long hallway that had his and hers closets and a full bath with a stand up shower, deep soaker tub and separate toilet. Both rooms had balconies which overlooked the pool and mountains! It was such a beautiful sight to wake up too. Ethan was over the moon and both the hubby and I fell in love with the mountain side view!

Waking up every morning with plush feather-down pillows, a down comforter and a gorgeous view of the Blackcomb mountains was SO breathtaking and dreamy. The beds were so comfortable that it was hard to get up in the morning! This room was literally equipped with it all but the cutest touch was the mini robe for Ethan plus a toddler crib that came with little bath essentials. I love how accommodating the Fairmont is for families. Travelling with children can be overwhelming and stressful so the extras and added touches are so appreciated.

We have traveled quite a bit and this room was by far one of the nicest suites we have stayed in. The amenities that are included are a great bonus and it saves you time and space from packing these yourself! There was plenty of closet space for my ten pairs of shoes ;) as well as enough space for Ethan to play which was so important for us. Both bathrooms were equipped with top of the line toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body cream, lip balm, shoe polish, and mouth wash). I loved that Gavin and I had matching robes and slippers. We lived in these while relaxing in our room!

The whole point of this Babymoon was to just sit and relax mainly by the pool and this has to be one of the nicest pools I have been too. The view isn’t bad either ;) The pool deck is equipped with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas,. There are 3 pools which was more than enough so it never felt crowded. The best part was that the pools are heated and since Ethan wakes up super early, it was nice to enjoy the pool deck without having to worry about the water being cold! This was a major bonus!

We spent the majority of the three days by the pool and the staff at the pool were the absolute nicest. I don’t think we went a half hour without someone checking in on us for either towels or something off the menu. It was so nice to be attended too without having to look for someone!

There is also a state of the art fitness facility which my husband took advantage of and loved! I normally work out on vacation but since I am on modified bed rest, I had to pass. They also offer complimentary yoga classes as well! How cool is that?

The indoor pool and hot tub were perfect for the one day that the weather wasn’t cooperating. There was also complimentary coffee and fruit infused water which was so refreshing when handling an active toddler during pool time ;)

The hotel offers 6 restaurants/food options and we had the pleasure at dining at 3 of them! We ate at the breakfast buffet at the Wildflower restaurant twice and this was one of the best buffets that I have eaten at! Ethan LOVED the sweets table, as did I ;) There was a fresh omelette station which included all the fixings and our favorite was the freshly squeezed orange juice!

There was something for everyone and the buffet was very kid friendly. They offered sippy cups for toddlers which was a major plus as we left ours in our room. I didn’t know this but at Fairmont hotels, kids under 5 eat free! That’s a nice savings when you have a big family!

We had lunch twice at the Portobello Cafe and my gosh the food was amazing! It was actually Ethan’s choice to go back there the second time as he was in love with the mac and cheese! It was the perfect mix of casual/kid friendly dining. Not to mention they had the best cake donuts I’ve ever had;)

On our last day we ordered room service as we knew with packing up, and getting ready to check out with a toddler, we were going to be a little crunched for time! We ended up ordering waffles, pancakes, eggs with all the works! Ethan wanted a smoothie and it was great that they had one on their menu! It was so cute to see him eating in his little robe! The food was nice and warm and tasted super fresh which was really nice!

We checked out around noon but again we were granted access to use the facilities all day which was so great! We stayed at the pool until 4pm so we had almost another full day of fun. What I loved was that someone came to get our bags and loaded them in the car for us so we could go straight to the pool. This was so nice as it saved us an hour!

Overall if you are looking for an amazing hotel with no details missed, you need to check out the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. It’s so family friendly that it feels like a home away from home! I loved that I didn’t need to worry about what Ethan would eat or if the pool would be enough for him. Every part of our vacation from check-in to check-out was seamless. We were always greeted by our names which was a very nice touch. I can’t say enough about how accommodating, kind and just genuinely happy the staff at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler are. Every question, request or favor that we had was fulfilled with a smile! I am all about details and little touches like fresh water and ice being delivered to our room every night are gestures that take your stay to the next level.

The thing that stood out the most to me was how kid & family-friendly every part of the Fairmont is. From breakfast options, to complimentary cribs, toy/sport rentals, heated pools, it made our trip more enjoyable as there was plenty to keep Ethan entertained. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a family vacation!
