We spent the last few days in Harrison Mills and it was so beautiful! Our day started with a scenic drive that was approximately 1.5 hours. The drive was soo beautiful! It was very scenic and the luscious greens were such a sight. I had purchased ipad holders for both boys but didn’t use it very much since it was a fairly quick and beautiful drive. It was so picturesque and Ethan kept talking about how beautiful it was.
We drove straight to the Sandpiper Golf Resort in Harrison Mills. Harrison is a land filled with wilderness, mountains, and rivers. It looks like something out out of a movie. Sandpiper is heralded as one of British Columbia’s most scenic 18-hole golf courses and is renowned for its adventure and fishing packages.
We checked in around 3pm and the resort itself was stunning! We were greeted by the friendliest staff and were given an access code to our two-bedroom luxury nature series cabin called Twin Eagle. Oh my gosh at first sight, this cabin was exactly what my soul had been craving. Nestled in and surrounded by nature, it immediately gave me a sense of calmness. This spacious cabin was equipped with everything we needed which was great when travelling with the kids. The rooms were super spacious and no detail was missed.
The luxury nature series cabins come with 1, 2 and 3-bedroom layouts and honour the wildlife and salmon that are indigenous and sacred to the area. They have the same rustic elements as the classic cabins, but with luxurious and contemporary touches, such as larger living areas and kitchens, gas or wood-burning fireplaces, and media streaming and cable packages.
We explored the area a bit and then headed over to dinner at River’s Edge Clubhouse Restaurant which is part of the resort. Everything was so delicious and bonus, Ethan loved his food! Gavin and I both had Steak and Ethan had a crispy chicken burger! We spent the evening walking around the resort and exploring the area. We went on a little trail walk which was so fun and both boys ran around the greens!
The next morning we had Breakfast at River’s Edge Clubhouse Restaurant before heading to Harrison Hot Springs which was only a 20 minute drive! Nestled against Southwestern British Columbia's magnificent mountains and the sandy beaches of Harrison Lake, Harrison Village is your local vacation destination filled with rich history and natural wonders, including our renowned hot springs. Whether you're looking for an adventure with the kids, aromantic getaway, or a fun-filled trip with friends, Harrison Hot Springs has what you are after. Watersports, boat tours, wildlife viewing, hiking, golfing, spas, agri-tours, fishing, festivals and events, waterfront accommodations, and dining are all yours to enjoy.
We went to Black Porch Coffee for a quick coffee and it was the cutest spot for a yummy coffee! It was SO delicious! We then went to the Harrison Tourism Visitor center and picked up a few goodies before heading to the lake. I love the fact that the playground is right on the lake so it was perfect for the kids. The lake was so much fun and the water is only 3 feet deep in the part by the playground!
We spent a few hours here before heading out to lunch at Muddy Waters Restaurant. Located on the waterfront, Muddy Waters is a family-run café that uses fresh, local ingredients to create a unique farm-to-table experience. From locally-roasted coffee to cheeses from Agassiz, Muddy Waters is a local foodie destination! The food was amazing! We ate nachos, a juicy burger and the boys had grilled cheese and macaroni. The service was SO great and so fast.
It was time for Liams nap so Gavin took him to the car to nap while Ethan and I checked out Harrison Water sports. We got a bumper boat car and had a solid hour of fun! Ethan was soo happy and it made me so happy! I wish we had more time as we would have checked out more of the water sports but Liam was up from his nap!
We then went back to the lake and relaxed before picking up double scoops of ice cream! I love how everything is so close together so we ended up walking around and exploring the area. It was around 6pm so we picked up pizza for takeout and took the boys back to rest up a bit before going on a trail walk again. I love that the trail at Sandpiper Resort is so accessible and very easy to walk. This was such a highlight for the boys as they ran around the entire time!
We stopped by the Clubhouse again for a little nightcap before heading back to our cabin! These cabin vibes are making me want to get one of my own. It’s so relaxing and peaceful.
The next morning, we had breakfast at at River’s Edge Clubhouse Restaurant. I have to say we ate well on this trip! Every single meal that we had was soo good. Ethan loved the Nutella French Toast and the coffee was amazing!
The boys loved every single part of our trip and that made my mama heart to happy! Liam was an angel (very surprised) and loved sitting on the porch in the mornings! Being able to make these Summer memories with my little loves makes me so happy!
We checked out around noon and we were so sad to leave! There is so much to do in Harrison and I feel like we just scratched the surface. We will definitely be back to explore more, especially hiking or checking out bear mountain! Our room was immaculate and everything from the service to food was amazing! I would highly recommend checking out Rowena’s Inn if you are looking for a very close getaway that is both relaxing and fun!
